This balance doesn't reset at the end of the qualification year, apparently? No complaints from me. I'd just like to be able to use the upgrades I'm earning...!

No, it resets at the beginning of the new membership year - March 1.

Ah. Thanks. I was surprised that it wasn't at 0 with all my other balances, so that makes sense.

Keep in mind if you don't reach the next 10,000 threshold (thus missing 4 upgrades) when March 1 comes around, give AAdvantage a call and nicely ask if you get some pro-rated credit for the partial.

Last year I think I got to something like X6,814 at reset, called, and got 3 upgrades credited to my account.

FYI. YMMV. I had 9k+ when I hit EXP last year and only got 2.

Still, that's better than nothing! I was just going to let it go, but since I have over X8,500 it would be worth the call. Thanks for the tip, funtrainsf!

One extra data point, I just sent an e-mail through the website, so you might have better luck with a call, but 2 stickers for a quick e-mail was well worth it.

I'm only at 5914 & only have a RT LAX - SFO scheduled on 2/16-2/18. Hopefully I can at least get 2 stickers for this.

Im somewhat disappointed that AA only gives stickers on flights over the 25k threshold, and not the 25k you flew to get there when they give out the stickers. Oh well

Can we get away from calling the upgrades stickers (leave that to the FT experts) AA stopped issuing the so-called stickers .. what?? 15 years ago ... the ipod wanted even invented back then:)

Did AA use actual stickers, too? I just remember them from my TWA days.

Wish us explats could still accumulate these for our significant others instead of purchasing them if needed to upgrade them.

Amen brotha! I see a lot of purchasing of these this year for the SO, and I don't have many (neither does she).

I'm confused. I originally thought the 'calendar year' ran from March to March, but my EQM accumulation reset at year end. Does this mean the mileage earned resets at the end of every year, yet the miles towards elite upgrades resets in March instead of along with the EQMs?

Correct. MTEU expires with the status year. EQM reset at the calendar year and apply to the rest of this year and all of next years status.

Thanks. :) One nice feature I like is that they add the upgrades as soon as my next 10k get flown. I initially thought I had to wait a year, so I guess the date doesn't matter for the MTEU. Already used two so far. *blush*

I remember that - they're very quick about applying them. And there's no reason to blush when using them - that's what they're there for.

I wish I still earned them... they're handy for upgrading the wife when she's traveling with me.

Does it mean if you are EXP you dont earn upgrd bonus for the year? Even it reset?

Once you're EXP you no longer earns stickers.

You no longer earn 'stickers' but you also don't lose the ones you have....if you fall from grace so to speak they are there for you to use...if you can. (ie if you drop down to platinum)..
