Around this time of the year, AA increases the miles awarded for donations to USO from 10 miles/dollar of donation to 15 miles/dollar. The AA website does not have any info on what the time frame will be for that promotion and if they will offer it at all this year. Anyone have any insight on that? Thanks.

Memorial Day is the last Monday of May, this year May 25 (date picked at random.) Veterans' Day is always Nov. 11 (anniversary of the peace treaty of WWI.) They usually do it around those 2 holidays.

For the longest time they used to run this promotion around Jul 4, until last year when they changed it to Memorial Day. What is strange is that last year they were not able to get that reflected in their online donation site. Someone at MP who had been able to reach out to them to get that info and alerted us to it with a post on MP. This year's timing is anyone's guess.

On a side note, for those who support USO, I found a link to Kroger Company's invitation for matching donations.

PS, Not sure how the attachment at the bottom of this post appeared????

USO is not even listed as one of the organizations on the AA website under the miles for donations program. Anyone have any insight into AA's association with USO? Have they dropped this charity altogether in 2016?

Update: An email inquiry elicited a phone response from AA. They are still sponsoring USO for the miles for donations program although it does not show up on their website and there is no link provided anywhere in the AA system. It turns out that the IT people somehow dropped it and a note has been sent to marketing to get the problem fixed. Regarding the once a year promotion of 15 miles/$ donated, the agent did not have any info and suggested that we keep our eyes open for it, once the website is fixed to include USO as one of the charities that they support.

Update: USO says that they are not being sponsored by AA anymore. Looks like AA quietly dropped supporting our troops and is giving out misinformation. However Cancer research is still being sponsored by them.
