I've noticed that it takes some time until the status and points are updated. Does anybody know how long this takes?

I noticed the same. It seems to be within the hour, at least it was yesterday.

Yesterday I noticed that Rambuster had more than 30 points and was still Regular Member but got Original Member later. I am pretty sure it took more than one hour till it changed status.

An hour maximum, in my experience, too.

My experience too. As you mentioned to me elsewhere, they might be prioritizing things, so the sweep for updates runs at a lower priority with a lag time. That would probably help the forum performance.

... and this will be a key item moving forward... a slow sluggish forum will detract from the collateral within!

then we're going to change it by 7 minutes on days with a "U" in them and increase by 17 minutes during months with an "A" in either of the first two letter of the name of the month. THe cryptic code of the Freemasons have nothing on us. A for effort though.

oh, we have that planned in as well, also moon cycles and we're still not sure of the tide thing as it seems influenced by the moon and we don't want conflict in the algorithm if we can help it—very difficult to debug.

But you're a bunch of pikers compared to the Revenue Management Mavens behind the Delta.com award engine.

You should check if the moon's the same everywhere (like if its a half moon at the same day on every place at this planet.) Otherwise it will be even more difficult.

In general, I would agree -- but just managed to book YYZ-AMS-HEL-CDG-YYZ for late summer, all at base award levels! [IMG] Some advance research using the KVS Tool was a big help, none of the flights showed up on delta.com.

Don't forget to add in variables for price of jet fuel, cheapest CPM MR on an airline, number of jets landing per hour :D

Use KVS Tool, or the AF FB booking engine directly (I think ExpertFlyer doesn't do this, though I may be wrong). Once I gave the flights to the agent, there was no problem at all ...

Hmm...maybe I will have to rename myself. It's too long...it says BoyAreMyArmsTir-ed. Maybe I'll just have to be Bammy here. Or I will take votes on other screen names. I'm only going to leave my real picture up while the site is in Beta too, I think...

  21. New thread~ Vote for BAMAT's handle.

Pics cute. I haven't seen you for a few years so it helps.

Ps. Typing this into my iPhone sitting in my rooftop
    Hot tub! Come visit

I'd love to sit in a hot tub! It's only a bit too cold in Kansas for that to happen ;)

That's something that needs to be mentioned here in the beta feedback forum. How about a popup when someone first creates their handle notifying that that handles with more than 15 characters.

Hot tubs are hot, and the steam keeps your face warm. We were in ours two nights ago, when it was about 10° F.
As long as the hot tub is close to the door into the house you're ok. Ours is about 6 feet away. I need it after shoveling snow off the roof yesterday, I'm sore.
