    Hi Everyone,

As a native Californian, I go through regular Mexican food withdrawals...so my options are to go without, make it myself, or find places here.

While I know many do not come looking to eat Mexican food here in the UK, I figured I'd post a couple of recommendations. They do have Chipotle here, but I do not like it in the US, let alone the UK. ;)

Tortilla - probably my favorite burrito place on this side of the Altantic...nicely seasoned meats and I love the grilled vegetables. Sometimes, it's necessary to add a bit of salt to their salsa.

Wahaca - decent option located throughout London who also has pretty good fish (fried) tacos.

    :)robin

I also like the Polish-Mexican restaurant in Shepherd’s Market off Piccadilly, L’Autre.

Where are the places you mention located?

There are several Tortilla's - I've been to the one on Southbank near the Tate Modern and the one near Oxford Circus. Wahaca is at the Westfield in west London and there's one in Covent Garden -- there are more, but I have not been to those locations.

I love Chipotle, but find it way too expensive in London. Most places aren't priced any better though.

For Mexican food (specifically, burritos), my top recommendation would be Benito's Hat. I frequently drop by Chilango for lunch, since it's closer to me.

I've also heard good things about Luardo's, but haven't had the chance to check it out yet.

This place (which is a chain with 2 London locations) http://www.cafepacifico-laperla.com/ is fun to go to with friends however hardly gourmet Mexican food.

I have been twice with colleagues from work and we have had a good time and the food didn't kill us. There is one night a week with a Margarita special if that is up your alley- take some friends along and it will be fun at least and cure your craving for a day or two but not three. It is not particularly expensive by any means either.

I've always thought it looked interesting, but have yet to go. :)

I've seen Chilango, but have yet to try it. I've tried Benito's Hat and found it to be so-so.
