What are the typical meal windows for UA/CO?

I found it kinda odd that on a 7:30pm EWR-LAS flight scheduled for 5+ hours is just a snack flight while the 6:30ish pm flight has dinner. Even if i leave my office in midtown NYC at 5pm, i'd be lucky to get to EWR by 6:30 (horrible traffic at the Lincoln tunnel - i could be at LGA by the time i'm at the tunnel entrance, despite all the assurances of how convenient EWR is). I'd barely make the flight with checked bags and no real time to get food. Kinda disappointing that it's just a snack flight vs. dinner in first. Is this just some sort of computer glitch?

Meal windows now apparently vary by flight length/distance - these were posted by a FA on the other site:

    (B)reakfast (L)unch (D)inner
    <1 hr: biscoff or pretzel
1-2 hrs: scone or snack basket
    Short--2-3 hrs: (B) 0500-0914 (L) 1100-1259 (D) 1630-1859
    Med---3-5 hrs: (B) 0500-0914 (L) 0915-1259 (D) 1500-1914
    Long---5-7 hrs: (B) 0500-0914 (L) 0915-1459 (D) 1500-1959

All times in-between are a cold plate (except snack basket 2000-0459 on short haul)

 I was not happy when my dinner service was downgraded to a snack service following the roll out of the new meals and meal windows

This clears up a lot. It looks like the windows are based mileage vs. block time, and i was surprised by how early the medium flight window ends. the flight was blocked for 5 hours 22 minutes, but is only 2,227 miles long (lots of anticipated delays at EWR).

The snack was pretty disappointing. Cold pasta, chicken, prepackaged cheese (same as in the club), and some fruit. I wish i had time to bring a hot meal onto the plane. I barely made it onto the flight (the trek to EWR took forever from NYC). By the time i got to LAS - any store serving food was already closed. The In & Out burger afterwards was really satisfying, but I really hope the new United rethinks its meal windows.
