OK, I'm not THE most prolific MadDog flier, but I dont recall seeing these window shade pulls. They were in such good conditions, I was wondering if they were some sort of "retro" addition, or if they were originals. The 'pulls' themselves were just spotless, and the rest of 1st had been refurb'ed.

Looks like new old stock. I'd only worry if the "McDonnell" were missing from the logo....

Perhaps they are new but someone forgot to change the tool. :)

Well, here I am on my return DFW-ORD and lo and behold, same MD shade pulls. Unless this is the same bird, must not have noticed them before. Gotta go, cheese tortellini on the way.... ugh.

I'm on the M80 more then any other AA plane, and I've seen those shades a few times. Not sure how often, I'm not taking notes on the shades...

Yea, don't know why they struck me this time. Maybe just the way the light was shining through them. And they really looked like they were brand new. No nicks, no dirty smears, no yellowing, etc. Guess its just one of those obvious things that I never really took note of before and for some reason just stuck out to me this time around. Wonder if I can pry one off and add to my AA 'collection'....

Perhaps you were stunned by the cleanliness as opposed to the shade itself and your mind got confused. ;)

    What's in this collection?

Yellow stains are masked by the yellow color of the shades.

Just kidding about the collection. (well, I do have the usual assortment of amenity kits collected over the years from my eVIP's and a blanket I accidentally walked off with). I'm not in the habit of prying parts off airplanes, though I am tempted occasionally.
