Anyone else notice it has disappeared from the MBNA site this week?
Yes. Anyone hear if this is gone forever??
Just double checked, all references to a Canadian version of the card are now gone off of Alaska Airlines website as well. Hopefully this just means they are perhaps looking for another partner (Capitol One?).
Anyone have the MBNA version and hear whats up?
Did a quick little search, MBNA sold their credit card division to TD Bank in Canada in 2011. The sale was completed in December 2011, about the same time that the Alaska Air card disappeared.
The card lives! From MP:
"Thank you for contacting Alaska Airlines. Unfortunately, at this time Canadian
residents are not able to apply for the Alaska Airlines Mastercard on our
website. We do expect this option to be available again in a few more days.
In the meantime, if you prefer, you can contact our office at 800-654-5669 for
a direct transfer to apply for the card or if you would like us to mail you out
an application please reply back to this email with the mailing address."
The link is now live. Goto www.alaskaair.com and theres now a link for the Canadian version. Still run by MBNA, apparently TD bank aquired all but 3 credit cards from MBNA and Alaska Air was one of them.
Thought I'd give a quick bump to this thread. Here is the link to the new application: https://apply.mbna.ca/applicationform/generateApplicationForm.htm?src=CPY601&locale=en_CA
Anyone have any experiences with this credit card? Do you feel the annual fee is worth it? Was the annual companion fare easy to use?
