I booked a stay at an SPG hotel - two rooms for my family, all on SPG points.

My cousin booked two more rooms for the same nights - using the prepaid rate. He doesn't have an SPG account.

At check-in, can I get my SPG number attached to his rooms so I get credit for the spend and the nights, and he gets free internet due to my Gold status?

Seems reasonable. I'll have him get his own SPG account.

I've had my SPG number added to another reservation by the hotel and earned points - not nights/stay credits - when I paid the bill, but no benefits were awarded to the other person in that room.

You could also book multiple rooms using your # under the same reservation # on SPG.com. That might work.

Yeah - he already paid, and it's a pre-paid rate, so not much I can do about that.

I did think about getting SPG Gold for my wife (we have the Platinum Amex) and letting her be on his reservation. But it sounds like that may be "gaming" when I want to just be solidly in the "maximizing" category.
