Where is the love for those of us whom earned EXP flying the planes?
Apparently not forthcoming, it seems. I understand AA wants to capture disaffected elites from UA and secure new/additional business, but come on, at least throw us loyAAlists a bone.
Of course, the GoGo certs would be more valuable if more flights had wifi on which to use them.
This business is a bit like politics. If you're loyal, they will only hit you up for donations.
If you want benefits, be prepared to deal with their competition.
I'd wonder the same if I was an EXP.
I am an EXP and I'm relatively ok with it. It seems these are very targeted from info on TOBB. Of course, I'd love some free GoGo passes too!
It seems AA is more interested in exchanging its elites with UA, like a partner swap urge to keep excitement fresh.
And sadly if you are a refugee (like me) who made the mistake of EARNING exec without a challenge or match before they announced the match you really feel bad - asaik - missed out on 8 vips, requal by 55k instead of 100k, no free admirals passes and no free gogo
Did you at least find greener grass?
Yes, so far (with one exception) EVERY agent I've spoken to (and I've NOT been on hold to get to them) have been courteous and HELPFUL.
Flights have been pleasant and award tickets available (at least to Asia when I plan far enough in advance). My biggest challenge is the more limited routing in Asia on AA metal which makes me unable to use vip for the whole trip, but since UA seems to have removed ug availability on all the routes I used to be able to get I guess this isn't such a problem!
I keep hearing that (and I certainly don't see a lot of R/RN availability when I check for my own routes), but are they selling those seats that they "gave away" previously or do they go out empty or do they simply delay the release of upgrade seats? I think it's probably the latter.
Anyway -- not to side-track this thread completely -- glad you're happy with your "desertion"
My thoughts exactly...
I think it's a combination of fewer seats due to ug aircraft, route cutbacks and release later, nevetheless I'm not paying 1k more for a ticket on the "hope" I can get ug'd.
Even tho I'm not happy that the amex exec "lites" are getting all these goodies after spending 2 hours on the phone with UA (for my probably last paid flight with them) to ticket and five or ten minutes on the phone with AA to ticket I'm not really looking back.
Indeed. Would have loved this e-mail in Dec. 2011Jan 2012 when I "recently attained Executive Platinum Status." ...but I did get the luggage tags .
