"one (1) free night award at a category 1-4 hotel"

Will Marriott ever make their promos a little more tempting by letting you apply their free night awards toward the price of a room at one of the 535 category 5-8 properties rather than only the 2,967 category 1-4 properties?

  3. Pretty sucky that it requires a Visa card only!

Also there are other variations floating out there for bonus points and not free nights.

  4. No! Somehow they don't feel they have to make their offers more compelling to remain competitive. Kudos to them for being able to do that!

Yes, I got 35k points for 20 nights and 15k more for 5 more nights. Pretty standard.

Platinum and Platinum Premier can call Marriott Rewards and change to another of the various MegaBonus offers (if, for instance, you have lots of nights coming up, you may want the bonus point offers, or if you have only a few stays the free nights promo might be better for you).

I don't know if it works for Golds and Silvers as well, but I've heard it doesn't. Never hurts to ask, though . . . .

This lowly Gold has always been able to call & switch promos.

Only issue is you can't see the change online. You may need to follow up w/ a call to ensure free nights post.
