I am looking at an anniversary trip in late 2014/early 2015 in Kauai. Have any of you stayed at those properties or have suggestions for which one we should pursue? Thanks!

The Kauai Beach club is a dump. The Waiohai Beach club is a nice property. I don't know about the others.

If you're looking to spend less, I've stayed at this Courtyard and it was great.

It really was OK. I was upgraded to a great room, with a terrace overlooking the beach. (Not a beach view, but right on the beach!!) The neighborhood is great with shopping really close. The town north of the hotel is full of shops and places to eat. Go to Caffe Coco. It's a local, really casual, backyardsy kind of place with great food.

The St. Regis in Princeville. Not Marriot, but best property on the island period, end of story. I agree with the "dump" rating of the Kauai Beach Club.

Another recommendation on Kauai (not a Marriott) is the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, see: http://kauai.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html
If the St. Regis in Princeville is #1 on Kauai, then the Grand Hyatt is #2.

We stayed there 27 years ago when it was just a Sheraton and it was fantastic even back then.
