Marriott gears up for Residence Inn global roll-out:)

Marriott International is gearing up for the global roll-out of Residence Inn.

Marriott operates more than 600 Residence Inns in North/Central US and the Caribbean - but now wants the long-stay brand's footprint to extend worldwide, particularly as nearly a third of all global business travel nights today qualify as extended stay (5 nights or longer in the same hotel).

The 78-unit Residence Inn by Marriott Juffair Bahrain, opening early 2012, will mark the brand's Middle East entry, which will be followed by an 83-unit hotel in the Saudi Arabian province of Jizan next year and 147-unit Residence Inn by Marriott Algiers in 2014.

Stayed at a new one in Moncton, NB a few weeks ago. Really nice hotel, and beats the pants off of most Residence Inns. I can't get over the 50% points earning though...
