I just signed up for the card at 50K. Think I can get it bumped to 70?

No mention of any bonus miles on the application page. How do we know we will get the 70,000 points?

add me to the list who applied just a few days ago at 50,000... although sounds like 70K is a targeted offer

Looks like it's targeted, and unfortunately I wasn't targeted.

It's worth a shot to send a secure message to chase from your account. I got bumped up to the 100k sapphire bonus. I wasn't targeted and didn't even send in an offer code - I only told them I became aware of a higher bonus and would like to be bumped up.

They did not offer any codes and this is the exact email that I got ... no mention if it was targeted or not.

Definitely seems targeted. What level are you with Marriott?

OK, so initial letter from Chase was a rejection, too many inquiries/accounts, but a quick call to reconsideration line cleared it up and I was given the card. Agent I spoke with said to wait until I get the card to see if it comes w/ 50K or 70K, and ask for the bump then.

Any basic recommendations from those with success on how to best word the request for a bump? I'm assuming not to cite web sites like MP, and just say something like

I was recently approved for the Chase Marriott Signature with a 50,000 point sign-up bonus, but have just seen offers for the same card with a 70,000 point sign-up bonus and would like to respectfully request that my account be credited with the difference.

    anyone with better wording?

That was essentially the same wording I used when I got my Chase Sapphire offer bumped up. It's best to use the Secure Message when you sign into your online Chase Account and send it to the Rewards Department.

This is the card I carry and use most often. Aside from the points, the No foregin transaction fees is a huge saving! And its the only card I now use internationally.

How much MR points are worth? Are they like Hyatt or SPG or more like PC?

Not sure what value PC points are worth but MR points are definitely worth less than Hyatt and SPG. They are probably slightly more valuable than Hilton's HHonors points but that was prior to the adjustment of allowing for premium room awards.

I don't believe I've seen any new calculation around HHonors pts since that change but my guess based on the responses I've seen is that it's negative.

Just a follow up on bumping the bonus.
While they agreed to credit me for the 20K difference, they wouldn't apply the free 1 night stay. Apparently because I had the card three years ago and was given a free night at that time.

Yes, you get a free category 1-5 as an anniversary bonus.

But, you also get a free category 1-4 instantly upon account approval according to this:

Way to go Chase. SM confirms the addition (next statement) of an additional 20,000 points to match current offer.

funny timing, as I'd just convinced a friend who travels a lot for business to finally jump in on this, and she tried this morning, and apparently the 70,000 point link is dead or corrupted, while the 50,000 point card offer is still working fine. Any one know what's going on? Think she should apply for the 50K, or wait to see if that 70K offer returns?

I saw that the 70k link was dead but used the 50k with $75 credit in addition to the annual fee waiver in the first year. Going to try and see if I can get the 20k bump through a SM but if I don't get it, a $75 credit isn't bad when put on top of the 50k points.

The application page posted by the OP still works but it doesn't mention the 70k points. You could try applying with that link and if you don't get 70k points you could then ask for 50k+$75. YMMV.
