Another person who assisted the infant's father was also arrested. Police said that apart from poverty, the infant's father tried to 'harass' his wife by selling the child. According to police, 25-year Raheem and his wife Zeenat were married nearly one-and-half years back and they had a two-month baby Saba. The family migrated to the city a year back and were staying at Subash Nagar in Jeedimetla. Raheem is working as a private tutor of Urdu classes and also working at a construction site as a supervisor. Jeedimetla police said Raheem was finding it difficult to run the family and wanted to return to his native place. To meet the expenses of the journey, Raheem decided to sell his daughter and approached his friend Devanand for help to find a customer.
