    Somehow I think the penalty (if convicted) should be one minute of exposure to that laser. Convict gets to choose the eye.

    This will never happen because it makes too much sense, but I think they should randomly have F-16s (or F-15Es, or F/A-18s, or F-22s... you get the idea) flying around airports and flight paths. If some dumbass shines a laser at a plane, the fighter pilot will then drop an LGB on him. :D

    Eh, I'd prefer my laser-to-the-eyeball approach, because... well, I live in a neighborhood not far from SFO where some of those idiots might try such a stunt, and I'd not like to have my house flattened.
