North American luxury hotel group Loews Hotels & Resorts announced this week that Internet access would be free for all guests. Loews owns or operates 18 hotels in the United States and Canada.
“Prompt, reliable Internet access has become a necessary and expected hotel amenity,” said Paul Whetsell, Loews Hotels & Resorts CEO said in a statement.

“We’re delighted to be one of the first hotel brands in our category to offer complimentary Wi-Fi access to each and every one of our guests.”

Thanks for posting, sobore! I was a bit surprised by the title of this posting. Not to brag, but it's the rare hotel that I've stayed at while travelling for work overseas that does not provide free Internet/Wi-Fi. Perhaps that's because my job doesn't cover my stay in a "luxury hotel"?

I wouldn't call Loews a luxury chain. At best, most of their properties would be considered four star, whatever that really means.
