Economy passengers will be restricted to one bag
Business class travellers can take three pieces

SOME air travellers will be allowed to take up to three times more weight on Qantas international flights - providing they can fit it into fewer bags.

But for economy travellers, not only does the weight remain the same, but they will also be restricted to one bag.

I can't tell from the article, but is it one bag, or one bag + personal item? It sounds like one bag total, nothing extra like a laptop or camera. I assume a coat wouldn't be a problem though.

I think you're thinking about cabin baggage, whereas the article (and the changes) are about checked baggage.

Doh! You are completely correct! So everyone should just move along... There's nothing to see here... not from my posts in this thread anyway.
