Was pleasantly surprised on a recent Lufthansa Italia flight to be served a full hot meal with an actual glass ... umm... wine glass that featured an LH logo. Pretty tasty even though it was economy booking.

Also a neat feature I had not seen before on any other airplane I flew was Post Cards at the front of the plane... This was very cool since I send post cards from everywhere I travel, and plane post cards are very cool. One observation, the Lufthansa Italia plane on the post card has Italian registration, while the three actual A319 Lufthansa Italia planes I flew all had German registration.

First they flew with a german license and crew. that is changing now. But could be that LH is stopping LH Italia because of the loses.

Really? I had heard the opposite- that they were expanding LH Italia.

Certainly can be as they now have their Italian operating certificate from ENAC (that is, as an Italian airline vs. EU airline) as of January. I do hope they work out as the competition is not up to the job by a long shot, and so far they are doing a very good job. Given that LH Italia has already carried over 2 million passengers- let's hope they can get a yield which is profitable.
