According to LH, 80 aircraft now have FlyNet capability and will be available on all long haul flights except those to China and South Africa by mid-December.

Also, all 747-8i's being delivered in March 2013 and afterwards will have FlyNet functioning immediately. The existing 747-8i's are equipped, but due to FAA certification and testing, they have not been put into service.

    Excellent news.

So- destinations such as Thailand and Japan and Hong Kong will have wifi? Did they lease space on another satellite?

Not sure about leasing space on the satellite....at this point probably cheaper to launch their own fleet into orbit!
