A third US-destination for the Lufthansa flagship: take the A380 to Miami.

Fly to Florida on the Lufthansa A380 - from 10 June 2011 you will be able to do this every day. Lufthansa is the first airline to fly an A380 to Miami - its third destination in North America after New York and San Francisco. Enjoy the exceptional comfort of our new flagship on your journey to Florida’s sunshine city.
With the start of the daily service to Miami, the eighth Lufthansa A380 begins flight operations. The world’s largest and most modern passenger airliner will take off each day with flight number LH 462 at 09.55 hours/9.55 a.m. from Frankfurt and land at 13.50 hours/1.50 p.m. at Miami International Airport. The return flight (flight number LH 463) departs from Miami at 16.10 hours/4.10 p.m. and arrives in Frankfurt at 07.15 hours/7.15 a.m. the following day.

So the three longest flights for LH are now, unless Im mistaken, FRA to SFO, FRA to HKG and FRA to EZE.... I assume HK is also served with A380, or...??

HKG is not, but there is a FRA-PEK A380 flight. Actually FRA-EZE is , at 13 hours longer than the rest. PEK, HKG, SFO, SEA, LAX are all about 10-11 hours. FWIW the longest scheduled flight in the world is the SQ 21 EWR-SIN in an A340-500 that is just over 18hr and seats 100 people in business class only.

FYI SQ21 is usually more than just over 18 hours, even the return SIN-EWR which has a shorter block is well over 18 hours, my longest was 18:40 on SIN-EWR

MUC/SIN is one of the longest nonstops.

This should go far to shut down the tired 767 trans atlantic service on AA, seems like LH is joining others in putting its best products into MIA to take on AA and getting little to no response from the once supreme OW hub.

IIRC MUC-SIN is planned at 13 hours, making it long, but roughly the same as FRA-EZE. Thus there are longer flights, just not with LH.
