    This week in loyalty program news we see a variety of companies launch and optimize variations of the programs designed specifically for their customers! From ticket companies to universities everyone seems to be catching onto the loyalty trend. In shopping news, we see a hotel offer a new way to shop while the world of video game loyalty breaks a threshold of users! All of this plus BMW is going to design the interior of planes for a swanky airline! You do not want to miss out on any of this exciting loyalty news!

    StubHub Launches Fan Rewards Program
    StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, announced the launch of their new rewards program mid-August. It will be the first reward program of its kind for the ticketing business. Members of the program receive rewards for every purchase made on StubHub’s website, including service and delivery fees. This program is free and customers can register online. Members earn rewards based on the percentage of eligible purchases. For every $10 earned members receive a $10 FanCode. There are two levels to the program, Star and Superstar. With each level comes different perks. To gain Star status, simply sign up online to qualify. To reach Superstar status, the customer must either make 10 purchases or spend $2,000 on StubHub.com. Blazing the trail for ticketing reward programs, StubHub seems to be making a move in the right direction!

    University of Michigan Athletics H.A.I.L Student Rewards Program

    The University of Michigan athletic department announced Thursday they will launch a student rewards program. This program will provide added benefits to Michigan students who regularly attend Wolverine sporting events. H.A.I.L which stands for, honoring attendance, involvement, and loyalty, presented by Flagstar Bank is a free program for all students who are currently enrolled. This program is designed to reward attendance of support of Michigan athletics. The students will accumulate points throughout the year and have the chance to collect rewards such as, Adidas gear, food discounts, student season tickets, a year supply of Coke Zero, and exclusive Michigan Athletics experiences. Members of the program will download the mobile app and “check in” to home events, this app will keep track of the points earned. As a means to spark involvement, this student rewards program should work very well for the University of Michigan. Regulars to the sporting events will be very pleased to learn they can now earn rewards for attending events they enjoy!

    Hilton HHonors Launches Shopping Program

    Hilton worldwide launches a shopping program that lets loyalty customers earn points by shopping for items they need or want. HHonors, the program for frequent customers of Hilton and all their brands, kicked off the “Shop-to-Earn Mall.” This “mall” is a network of about 1,500 retailers ranging from department stores to cartridge ink sellers. All of these retailers allow HHonors members to earn bonus points from purchases. When customers log in to the site they can track their eligible purchase and earned points. The bonus points offered vary by retailer, but can be put to use easily by all HHonors members!

    GameStop’s PowerUp Loyalty Program Hits 20 Million Members

    Since the company launched its loyalty program in November of 2010, it has seen significant growth. Within about two years of existence, the program has hit 20 million members! The company initially used the program to determine which locations to close and where to open new ones, based on where PowerUp members lived. Now, the program has evolved into a place where the company offers members exclusive offers such as a trip to the London Olympics or becoming a character in the new “Assassin’s Creed” video game. The program also has been instrumental in GameStop’s digital efforts, offering members exclusive downloadable content. At 20 million members strong, this program exhibits hope for gamers everywhere!

    Featuring revamped seats and new entertainment offerings, Singapore Airlines has partnered with BMW and DesignworksUSA to create a swanky cabin in its next generation of aircrafts. Careful not to divulge too much detail, Singapore Airlines offers little detail on the project. What they have said is in first class they are working on improving the ambiance, revamping the seats, improved seat comfort, more privacy and better personal stowage. A new generation of business class seats will offer improved comfort in both seating and sleeping positions as well as stowage space. Furthermore, for all classes new inflight entertainment and connectivity offerings along with enhanced cabin lighting will also be introduced. With the help of brand savvy company, BMW, Singapore Airlines new cabin promise to be super slick!
