Air Berlin joined One World in March 2012, and with that no more a LCC.

While AB is a Oneworld member they still lack some basic full member features (at least what I'd consider to be a legacy airline feature). Over the last year they improved tremendously e.g. by allowing OW Emerald members access to their 'executive waiting rooms' (not lounges ;-)) without the need to talk to somebody. Some benefits are not well-communicated (e.g. free 'champagne' on short-haul flights for Emeralds).
Two of the main concerns for me are the lack of a intra-European business class (customers seem to expect it, even if it's a Lufthansa-style European business) as well as the lack of shower facilities/lounges. I've seen numerous customers on TATL C flights (mostly AA) connecting to AB in Europe (e.g. FRA) asking for a shower/lounge/... and then being disappointed that even though they booked business they end up in Y.
