Is this limited to the JFK routes? Is West Coast-ATL considered transcon?
AFAIK, it is only between JFK and SFO/LAX.
Other routes are included as well. JFK-PHX, JFK-SEA as well as others. Normally the Lounge Dragons are not well informed of this and you usually need to ask for a supervisor.
Customers traveling on a nonstop Delta First Class, BusinessElite, or full Y-class ticket between JFK and Denver, Las Vegas, Los
Angeles, Portland, Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle, and San Francisco.
My personal experience if you get upgraded at the window you should have no problem being let in. If you get upgraded at the gate, the computer still shows you as a coach passenger and that is why there seems to be a problem.
Delta has the most generous lounge access rules for transcons. Even full fare y pax are welcome, and their definition of transcon is the most generous of any carrier, thought it is for to/from JFK only. Unlike American, upgraders are welcome.

Denver is included, but slc, despite being well west of den, is not. I presume that is because DL feels they are competing to Denver, which they're not to slc.
If you're traveling to one of these off the run cities (meaning not lax or SFO), bring a printout of the website just in case.
Unless you would rather have 7,500 Skymiles added to your skymiles account
Is that the compensation rate for wrongly denied SC access?
Yep-gotten several times for JFK-PHX flights. Now I just pull out my AMEX plat though after being denied for transcon F access though.
That is the compensation rate for writing a complaint email. No matter what the topic is
You could email then back and say you want an e-cert to if you prefer that.
Well, that makes it about $5 on any other airline with the current conversion rate of skypesos
Keep in mind that DEN and PHX do not have clubs, so flying East to West should get you access. West to East, not so much.
Just be careful, you know what happened to the last guy who they decided complained to much...
But that was NWA where miles actually were worth something!!
