The scenario: So, you've got an eVIP. You're curious--what's the LONGEST you can fly with it?

Think in the ball-park of LHR-DFW-LAX-NRT, etc. could make for some interesting fodder for MR planning for later this year or early next....

Then, would do that same itin. in reverse on the return, or have some other creative use of another eVIP from there to get back "home"?

[Noting a blooming discussion in the "AA's Longest Flight" thread, thought I'd throw in the topic of what is the currently "longest" use of a single eVIP, based on AA's current offerings (not the longhauls of the glorious past, not the discontinued ORD-DEL's, or the speculation of what we wish AA would fly, nor routings that go beyond eVIP usage rules, etc. but among allowable, yet creative, flight combinations offered currently].

I think we should have one that involves no backtracking. It must be as close to a direct routing as possible, not a mileage runner routing. Otherwise, LHR-LAX-JFK-HND or LAX-ORD-PVG would probably be the winner. I submit MVD-MIA-ORD-PVG as my entry for that, the slightly shorter EZE-MIA-ORD-PVG if you're booking J and upgrading to F.

I wonder how much harder it would be to force a routing like EZE-DFW-ORD-PVG for a few hundred more, but wow, that's fantastic.....

I felt great about planning a SFO-JFK-EZE SWUed but these routes here sure are giving me ideas.

May do that in F for 62.5K miles then SWU EZE-JFK-LAX-NRT!

So AA Evips are not per segment, it is day of travel?

SWUs are good for three segments of travel, there isn't a time limit. You can even fly LAX-ORD-BOS and make a stop over and then continue on the LHR using 1 SWU.

David does not make mistakes on matters of AAdvantage policy. Just in case anyone wants to read it officially, here it is:

"Upgrades are valid only on scheduled flights marketed and operated by American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection flights offering a First or Business Class cabin for travel. Not valid on codeshare flights...
Open tickets may not be issued...
Stopovers, joint and through fares are permitted if fare purchased allows."

...ideas indeed. And it's easily bookable on aa.com, (easily, as in, you don't need to use multi-city to force connections, etc.....)

Could be quite the MR party flight..... Beginning with a steak & malbec dinner in EZE before the overnight flight that launches the insanity....

...actually a bit cheaper if going ex-NRT instead of ex-EZE....

Did anyone ever try EZE-DEL when the DEL flight operated? I hope the DEL flights return after BK.
