Longest flight you've taken on a regional jet?

I was looking at my next itinerary, which is a domestic multi-city with 5 segments, 4 of which are on a Canadair CRJ-200 (CR2). The longest segment is 911 miles, and the total distance traveled on CR2s that week will be just north of 1400 miles.

So I got to thinking - what's the longest regional jet flight I've taken? This is certainly the longest on a CR2 for me. I've also done ORD-SLC (about 1250 miles) on a CR7, but at least had Economy Plus.

What is the longest regional jet flight you've taken?

    Sadly, United runs EWR-MSP using ERJ 145s and 170s. I think that's a 1400 mile trip. :(

I remember posting this somewhere, but once upon a time AE runs its RJ (I believe it was on an CR7) from DFW to SYR and back. GCMAP shows the route being 1336 miles long. I had the pleasure to be on it once. Long flight on an RJ :)

I think for me it was SFO-YYC (and back) at 1018 miles each way. CR7. Outbound was F, so no big deal.

I have flown MIA-CLE 1080NM several times in an all economy EMB145. I did not find it bad, but I always had 3A so I was quietly by myself and the leg room is OK. I'd rather be in the EMB170/195 in F. With those four hours would be OK with me.

    YQR-ORD is a CR2 at 988 miles.

I flew a CRJ-705 (CRA) (really a CRJ-900) from YQR to YOW on AC metal this year, roughly 1380 miles. But it has an executive class section (and I got upgraded). The back of the bus isn't bad either, with IFE and 34" pitch but the overhead bins are cramped.

You have to wonder if the airlines are taking chances with some of these routes though. A 145 and a "standard" 195 are rated for 1,400 miles. With the weather on some of these places (whether it's tornadoes or snowstorms) you figure one bad day and everybody ends up in Wichita (or whatever other city you don't wanna go to when flying).

I thought the exact same thing. I did not know the rating but I had to figure it was stretching the limit. Plus, it's just pure hell.

    IAH-YYC on a CR7 in Y (1747 miles)

Edit: it might have been a CR9, it was a couple years ago and I don't quite remember. Anyway I did a quick look on flightaware for all the airborne CRJs CRJ2s CRJ7s and CRJ9s, and based on this quick assessment, IAH-YYC appears to be the longest CRJ route with a scheduled duration of 3:58!

i think the terms should require this to be about flights with no F :)

have also done dca-dfw on US with no F. 1190 miles. cr9 i think?

I've been on PVD-ATL (903 miles) and PVD-MSP (1113 miles) on CR2s; but PVD-MSP was when they were switching equipment.

PWM-ORD, just 900 miles but longest time was NBO-KGL (ABORTED) - BJM - NBO - KGL Total of about 8 hours on board a E190, and ~1600 flown miles, but I only got 500 MQM.

I think ORD - YYC was the longest, but at least it was a CRJ-700. YYC-DEN in a CRJ-200 was far more unpleasant. I was sitting next to a UA pilot during the flight and he was non to happy about riding in such a small plane for a flight of that length.

1184 miles two times OKC - LAX and one time LAX - OKC, all in an AA CR7. All in F. Because of the F, not bad flights at all, except for (1) a tall guy trying to use the one CR7 lav in the back, and (2) the crappy "forced busing" American Eagle terminal at LAX.

The OKC route is not the longest one Eagle "offers" (imposes?) to LAX customers. On one of my flights from OKC, I met up with a milepoint regular who had flown to LAX that afternoon on an Eagle CR7 from IAH, which is even farther: 1376 miles.

GEG-ORD last year...1498 miles on an ERJ-170 is a loooong way (to sit in the back).

Flying ORD-YQR in February, United asked for a volunteer to stay back in Chicago (and someone did volunteer). There were blizzards at YQR that night and they wanted to have enough fuel capacity to divert to MOT in case they couldn't land at YQR. We were a completely full flight.

They gave the pax a round-trip ticket anywhere in Canada/US that United flied, so that was a good deal. I would have taken it if I'd been alone!

If it's Air Canada, it was likely on Jazz in a CRA (CRJ-705). J business class, plus 34" pitch at the back. Not a bad bus to ride to Houston really. Just hell for the checked versus carried-on bags aspect, because of the limited overhead bin space.

SLC-ORD on UA, on CR2 or CR7 (can't remember), 1250 miles. Also done that route on E170 which is marginally better.

Yep, it was AC. And the IFE was pretty good, too.
