The crowds in London today were crazy...hard to imagine what it will be like in a year with even more people!! Getting through Covent Garden to the tube station was a mess!

I can't imagine what it must be like to live in a city with the olympics in town. With that being said, rent out your place and make sure to take a sizeable deposit to make some extra money, then stay in a hotel to rack up some points/miles!

I do have an extra bedroom...lol...of course my family members coming in next summer during the first week of the games may not appreciate an extra roommate! :D I thought about airbnb.com, but one bathroom could make things difficult. :D

I have not used them, but know others who have. I gave the free "London tour" to my friend's walking partner and her daughters when they visited in May. They used airbnb to locate a flat in north London for their stay - it was a great deal and they really got a sense of the local flavor that a hotel typically does not provide. They were really happy with the experience! :)
