    The other thread seems to have disappeared, so I'll put this up once more, in case the old one won't come back.

    Had these idea for a logo, note it's just the shape I'm interested in, not colours, textures, etc. Let me know what you think. Might be good to add some of those previous comments here, especially the tongue in cheek one ;)

    The second one seems most appropriate, with a hint of a ‘p’ in the second half of the m. The font is one weight down on the one used at the moment, Myriad Pro Bold (as opposed to Black). But it's the idea, I'm interested in getting feedback on.

    What's the point of making the same post again? Since the old thread fell victim to censorship here in the forum, sure this one will likely disappear as well.

    Randy mentioned earlier that "an agency" is working on branding including the logo. So I suppose that the user feedback and suggestions for the logo are not desired by the owners of MP, at least at this stage.

    For the record, we've done nothing with any logo page and actually i was quite fond of it thinking it made for a great poll to choose 1 or 2 as the flavicon. So I'm not sure why any censorship for a logo? I've asked the guys to look into what might have caused the error and see if they can check the log files to retrieve. Agencies, schmagencies, i like what our members are doing.
    So please continue to add to this and i'll let you know what the guys find out from the error code. Thanks.

    FWIW, I vote for #1 - looks clean and is balanced. You can very clearly see the m. I love the "tongue in cheek" point that sticks right out at you.

    I like #1 best as well.

    Maybe put the point in red or another color for contrast.

    I vote for the top one. The second one I at first thought was "Mr." and then I decided that it was an elephant with a ball or coconut.

    Between the two, I like #1. I had to zoom way out in my browser to make a good comparison based on a smaller size.

    However, I'm one who prefers MP to the m. shorthand.

    Would it be feasible (or desirable) to create a MP "smiley" icon to use within posts?

    I actually ran across this thread earlier because I was considering starting a thread to invite members to submit their own logo ideas. Agency or not, what harm is there in inviting additional submissions? I would operate on the basis that if anyone submits an idea here, then they are submitting it without any strings attached.

    I like #1 as well, though I can see the elephant in #2, MSPeconomist. :D

    I'm not going to put it together, but I was considering something like the letter "m" with the last leg of the letter then swooping up as a pointing arrow.

    Are the logos supposed to form the letter m in the word milepoint?

    [IMG]

    If that's the case, then the dot in the second logo does not look that great due to dot in the letter "i" next to it.

    In the first logo, the letter "m" no longer appears to be in line with the other letters, because its bottom was thinned out to form a dot. Maybe make the other two legs if "m" thicker. The first logo also looks too much like McDonald's to me.

    If the logo is not supposed to be part of the word, how is it supposed to be placed on the website?

    In the other thread I pointed out that, while I really like number 2, number one looks like the letter M is taking a poop.

    For a favicon, number 2 is my favorite.

    I wasn't gonna say it, so I'm glad someone else did.

    Doesn't this make Number 1 Number 2?

    Here's an unfinished though on how that dot could be factored into the full name. Again, it's just sketchwork; no idea what to do about the ‘t’ and ‘e’ colliding – I just fudged it. I hope I can get those likes back from the other thread :( There were at least 5 :(

    Pretty good. Even if the team already has a logo idea. I wouldn't mind seeing other different logo ideas.

    how come when I look at it, I read "millepoint", like "millimeter"?
    Maybe the extra dot makes my eye see iil ?

    Isn't...
    milli = thousandth
    mille = thousand
    ?

    I would prefer 1000 points rather than 1/1000th of a point.
