Don't know if rough is the right adjective but it's close. Will have to see the video for body language and facial emoticons to get a good feel. Shakespeare and a few others could well convey emotions in prose ... journalists generally cannot.

I see they've got RA shilling for Amex cards as well...

Interesting interview. As someone who has met and chat with in a short time. I find it he does understand how the customers feel. But there are areas he and other airlines are unable to control.

As a former journalist, it seems like this is a botch job meant to put Delta in nothing but a negative light - I just get the sense that the reporter has a clear agenda against Delta and is doing everything in his power to make them look like the bad guy.

That is apparently what passes for "har hitting" interviewing these days.

    Namely, this quote:

"You had three attempts already to unionize your flight attendants and all three failed," Liss said.

That's a completely loaded and entirely misleading statement. RA didn't attempt to organize anything. The FA's did. There is no answer to that BS.

You could, of course, be correct in this assessment, but I'm not so sure. Instead, based on several live interviews I've seen of RA, I tend to believe that he just doesn't interview well. Some people are very accomplished in this kind of situation; others not so much. I think RA fits in the second camp.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree in this assessment. Even at the DO back in October, it seemed to me the RA was a bit tight at first but when he opened up the floor a little bit as he became more comfortable, his personality did take a bit of a shift to more relaxed.

I agree. Bad guy sells papers. Good guy just a footnote.
