It was announced by a Little Red flight attendant last week, and there are now signs up at the check in counter at EDI. Virgin Atlantic for December 2013 are status matching BA passengers. Okay, sort of - what they're doing is colour matching, so if you have BA Bronze you are out of luck. If you have BA Gold you get Flying Club Gold, if you have BA Silver you get Flying Club Silver with a "fast track" to Gold, requiring you to earn 20 Tier Points in 7 months. (Actually quite cheap to do on Little Red). It is a nice gesture from VS who are not normally known for publicly status matching. The lack of equivalence between tier may put some people off - BA Silver is One World Sapphire the equivalent of CX Gold and AA Platinum with associated perks. VS Silver is nowhere near as generous, but the shorter step to Gold may be worthwhile for some.
