    Here it is, folks.

There's no new category 7, just 25 properties going up a category and 18 going down. Andaz Wall Street you'll want to pay cash for on a weekend, that's for sure. And sad to see Hotel Victor go Category 6. But then the two Dubai properties drop down a notch. Makes sense that Grand Hyatt Mumbai goes up, Park Hyatt Goa too. Surprised to see Hyatt Regency Hua Hin pop up but then during high season it's rates really spike, even if much of the year it's a $100 property.

Without further ado, the list we were told we had to wait until August 4th to see:

Moving from Category 1 to Category 2
    Grand Hyatt Jakarta 1 2
    Hyatt Place Atlanta/Downtown 1 2
    Hyatt Place Chesapeake/Greenbrier 1 2
    Hyatt Place Freemont/Silicon Valley 1 2
Hyatt Place San Antonio NW Med Ctr 1 2
    Hyatt Regency Buffalo Hotel/Conf Ctr 1 2
    Hyatt Regency Fukuoka 1 2
    Hyatt Regency Kolkata 1 2

Moving from Category 2 to Category 1
    Hyatt Place Chicago/Hoffman Estates 2 1
Hyatt Place Dallas Garland 2 1
    Hyatt Place Dallas/Plano 2 1
    Hyatt Regency Dearborn 2 1
Hyatt Place Jacksonville Airport 2 1
    Hyatt Place Richmond/Arboretum 2 1
    Hyatt Place Sacramento/Roseville 2 1
    Hyatt Summerfield Suites Dallas/Las Colinas 2 1

Moving from Category 2 to Category 3
Hyatt Place College Station 2 3
    Hyatt Place Saratoga/Malta 2 3
    Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown 2 3
    Hyatt Place Secaucus/Meadowlands 2 3
    Hyatt Regency Louisville 2 3
    Hyatt Regency Minneapolis 2 3
    Hyatt Regency Perth 2 3
    Hyatt Summerfield Suites LAX.El Segundo 2 3

Moving from Category 3 to Category 2
    Hyatt Place Greensboro 3 2
    Hyatt Place Princeton 3 2
Hyatt Place Tampa Westshore 3 2
    Hyatt Regency Bonaventure 3 2
Hyatt Summerfield Suites Bridgewater 3 2

Moving from Category 3 to Category 4
    Grand Hyatt Mumbai 3 4
Hyatt Hotel Canberra – Park Hyatt 3 4
    Hyatt Regency Hangzhou 3 4
Hyatt Regency Hua Hin 3 4
Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa 3 4

Moving from Category 4 to Category 3
    Grand Hyatt Shenzhen 4 3
    Hyatt Regency Belgrade 4 3
    Hyatt Regency Bishkek 4 3
    Hyatt Regency Dubai 4 3
Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach 4 5

Moving from Category 5 to Category 4

Hua Hin went from Cat 1 -> 3 in last year's shuffle. Now to category 4! So within a year, cost went from 5k to 15k points. Glad I got my week earlier this year at the 5k rate.

That's my reaction as well, that hike is out of control, from 1-4 in a year!.

But it's my only reaction, nothing to be excited about --- at all. Mostly properties none of us would redeem at anyways that go up/down ;)

Wait a minute.. Not that I would redeem there, but the nastiest Hyatt Regency around just went up:

    Hyatt Regency Minneapolis 2 3

It needs to be demolished/redone asap.

Ah, come on, it was OK (but not great) twenty years ago and it used to have some good restaurants.:p

I have bad memories of staying at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick (New Jersey) when it was being renovated. Not fun. Another unfond memory is the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's downtown but the only thing nearby seems to be a sports center. Vancouver wasn't great either, but it's in a good location.

I also have unfond memories of a place that I thought was flagged as a Hyatt Regency at the time: Birmingham, Alabama, which doesn't seem to be on the master list, so I assume that it's gone.:)

Agreed! I stayed here last year on a Priceline stay. It was rated 4-star, but that must have been a long time ago! :p

Does this mean, when I book now the Jakarta property eg for early next year, we would stay there on Cat 1 points instead of Cat 2! Do I understand this right?

You have to book before September 1st (I think) to get the Cat 1 price. If you book after, it's cost you Cat 2

I've updated the property spreadsheet with these new values. This is useful to track changes since before the Great Devaluation of 2010. Everything is formatted as a list, so you can filter for only those properties that have changed, only those in a certain category or country, etc. All properties are hyperlinked for your convenience as well. Just click the link:

This really isn't too bad. I really like that the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure goes down to Cat. 2 they sometimes charge $300 or more in the winter. I figured it was a matter of time until the Andaz goes up to Cat 6.

The only one on the list that I stay at regularly is the PH Canberra and I was expecting to see it on the list. I could never understand why a hotel that regularly had room rates in excess of $400 was only a Cat 3. The last few stays we had there we points redemption because of the price.

Glad to see they didn't touch most of the hotels I want to stay in. Not happy to see Hua Hin went up but happy to see Shenzhen moved down.

Hyatt Place Fremont/Silicon Valley is in Fremont, California, not Freemont.

Fremont is named after John Fremont, the pathfinder who traveled the west and whose young, educated wife wrote the reports that opened the west to many settlers in the 1840s. Fremont made a fortune in gold and lost it all in bad investments dying poor. Fremont ran for President as the first Republican party candidate on an anti-slavery platform in the 1856 election. Lincoln was second in Republican Party voting for vice president. Fremont lost to Democratic James Buchanan. Lincoln won the Presidency in the 1860 election. John Fremont was kicked out of his Civil War Union Army military command after emancipating the slaves of Missouri in 1861 two years before Lincoln issued Emancipation Proclamation.

Anyway, Hyatt Place Fremont, California is located in one of the most multicultural cities in the United States.

Sorry to see the hotel go to category 2, but it sure was a bargain on weekday night awards.

Nothing devastating, IMO. I've stayed at a number of these places before, but never on award nights, so not going to affect me in any measurable way.
