As many of you may know, flying within much of South America (but not all) does not have any liquids restriction - from Peru to Chile and Argentina have no restrictions. However, the main security checkpoint @ LIM will pull your "not Freedom-baggie" sized stuff for all international flights. This differs from transit security where you don't have a restriction but you still will, i.e., have a gate security check for flights to the US. I was almost bitten by this because I considered buying some duty free @ SFO and ended up misconnecting and spending the night @LIM w/o my luggage. Instead, I just lost a few little bottles of water.
