On TOBB, there's a thread that Starwood has introduced lifetime Plat. The requirement is ten years as Plat and credit for 500 nights. It doesn't seem to carry published benefits above and beyond regular Plat.

I must be at or close to 10 years, but I only have 280 nights.

I'm on track to have the nights by about the time I reach the years criterion. My current average looks like about three nights per stay, albeit with high variance, and over 50 nights per Plat year. I was a member from the beginning but went for airline miles back then.

I think I have a pretty good chance of being dead before I get there :)

Since 2005, you have a total of 5 stays and 27 nights

In fact I am surprised I even had 27 nights.

Is there anyone else who finds it funny that they have a FAQ about when your lifetime status expires? I can think of at least one way...

I just received a personal call from Platinum concierge in MA that I’ve been awarded Lifetime Platinum! :D She told me that I never have to qualify for Plat status again and also mentioned the new continental breakfast benefit.
