35,000 tier points and you'll receive lifetime Gold
also sounds like 100,000 tier points will get you gold guest list (GGL)
Excellent. I am LTG already. At 53,170 TPs, I have some way to go to Lifetime GGL, but I'm on track. In the meantime, my CIV goes up to 100 for being GGL and CCR. That'll keep me ahead of the GGL rabble.
I wish QF introduces LTP.
I didn't understand! I'm new to the program. But 35,000 Tier points are the same as 35,000 flown miles on Full fares?
No, tier points are not miles. If you fly cheap Y you get 5/10 pts for the short haul and 30 pts for long haul. So if you need 35k you'll need to fly about 1000 times cheap Y with 1 short haul + 1 long haul to get LTG.
Of course if you fly F, then you get something like 210 points per long haul flight (LHR-HKG) which means that you need to fly about 100 times F to get LTG.
Thanks Nacho! It's not bad for those who fly F! Not Bad at all!
84 return flights between LCY-JFK will get you Lifetime Gold.
In J? I guess it's all J on that?
Sort of. The London City service earns FIRST tier points and Avios. It's a quirk. Originally done to incentivise the service, BA have kept it.
If you really have the inclination, know how, a bit of spare cash and have no wife you can get it reasonably cheaply flying a lot of AA F domestic itineraries....plus 4 BA sectors of course. IIRC someone worked it out that £35K at todays prices could get you Lifetime Gold.....which is very reasonable as long you don't get run over by a bus shortly after attaining it.
I was going to but didn't want to offend those who might actually be contemplating doing such a thing.
