Looks like it's happening:
I have not been following this...I know mergers are the thing these days, but this probably will not be good for fares with less competition...
Bloomberg actually reported it yesterday, for announcement today.
This is not a merger. This is the disposal by LH of an airline which it did not want and which did not have an independent future.
Thanks for the clarification.
There were all sorts of other good things that could in theory have happened, but unfortunately personalities may well have got in the way.
Time to get on the phone to the ICC then perhaps.
And Sir Richard couldn't find a partner to help open the check book. Too bad, I was hoping Virgin would use this as an easy route to *A.
I now feel vindicated at letting my Gold status lapse, but looking at availability for expected trips in the next 6 months, I see nothing. Need to burn those 260k! Might be my last chance ever to fly First.
have not had much problem finding f or C on LH from the US. what kind of routes are you looking for?
I was thinking of ditching BD back in March but in the end deciced to give it another year. Looks like I pay the price now
if you're status doesnt expire till next spring, you have very good chance to have the status renewed with the new program. WIll just depend on which alliance at this point. My BD *G expires in January, so I'm hoping they bundle in statuses that expire between the announcement today and the close of the deal, whenever that happens.
Sad to hear. I didn't fly BMI often but it came in handy a few times for me.
Time to burn whatever BD miles I have left for I have no likes of teh Speedbird...
To spend BD miles now or let them convert into BA miles and ONEWORLD redemptions.
