Well, so far there is no A380 serving YVR. Thus, if nothing changes, this LH A380 will be the first schedule flying into YVR.

It was a mistake and pulled an hour or two after posting on Facebook.

No Lufthansa A380 to YVR from Munich in 2013.

My LH A380 Y to SFO from FRA was a nightmare and I think I'll avoid LH A380 at all cost.

I booked my flight in Aug. 2011 for late Mar 2012. When I booked my flight more than 50% Y seats were blocked. So All I could get was row 83

On board in FRA was a big chaos - there were 700 pax? (full load) with 2 less than 5 loos in the ladies, it was delayed after we got to the gate.

Our seats were the new NEK seats, i.e. paper thin, so thin that practically anyone that weighs more than 80kg will yield an automatic recline, which means that half of your leg room would be gone. IFE is nothing special, except with a usb port (can't remember if there was any power supply).

Also if you seat with a big person, his elbow will probably have taken 20% of your seat. My armrest was captured by someone who is bigger than me (it wasn't at the A380 but in a NEK seats which I believe they were almost identical).

Food was bad - I think they might have cut more on food since Nov 2011.

The aircraft was noisy - I guess it gets really quiet if you are on the upper deck.

Toilets felt like it was made out of cheap material - the whole impression of Y is 'cheap'.

My kids were invited to the cockpit - jealous (only saw it in Toulouse Airbus factory).

I'm making the comparison based on my flights with other carrier such as TK - I actually booked my flight from CPH-LAX with TK because it's simply better - TK provided free wifi on their 777s, better seats, food etc.

I have only flown an A380 in Y from CAN-PEK with CZ. It was actually fine for a short flight- I haven't had the pleasure to experience a longhaul flight- this thread is making it a note to "avoid avoid avoid!".

I flew SQ Y on the A380 and I thought it was great (particularly in the upper deck in the back). LAX-NRT-SIN and back. More room than on their 77W. I wouldn't do that on other airlines though ...

The plane maxes out at 536 passengers in the LH config.

    There is.

I sat in the back of the lower deck and it is much, much quieter than any of the other 4-engine planes in the market. It is even quieter than the 748i.

Thanks! I think I'll pick the back of the lower deck next time (if TK is going to buy A380s) - I was sitting just behind the wing, and maybe that's the nosiest part. During take-off and landing was definitely more quiet than any aircraft I have tried but when it's up in the air the noise level was pretty much the same.
