Learning the new website: How to sponsor an upgrade

    • Log in to the site as yourself.
    • Go to "My Reservations" on the site. At the bottom of that page is a form where you can put in a PNR and passenger last name.

    • Fill that in with the info of the passenger you want to sponsor.
    • Below the list of flights is a button to redeem an upgrade:

    • Click that and you'll have the option to use either miles or your certs to process the upgrade:

    Very nice. Thanks for the tutorial. I haven't actually ever had to do this, but it's good to know.

    I don't see this option for an upcoming reservation :(

    I used an UA e-cert [it works on the new site], so looks like I will have to make a call to use my RPU...

    Is your reservation ticketed Or just reserved?

    The other way that used to work was to go in to seat assignments and pick a seat up front and then it would take you to the same "upgrade" page to choose the upgrade means. Maybe try that.

    No luck there... It sent me back to my reservation page...
