    Status Points:
Big changes are afoot regarding the earning and maintaining of status in le Club Accor.

In a nutshell, there will be two kinds of points: Reward Points and Status Points. Status Points are basically the same as points earned now without the bonuses for status tiers, and these are what will count toward status, as the name implies. Reward points include bonuses earned due to status or offers, and can be redeemed for rewards the same as currently.

Silver will require 2000 Status Points
Gold will require 7000 Status Points
Platinum will require 14,000 Status Points

In other words, bonus points will no longer count toward status.

The other big change is that status activity will be by calendar year beginning in 2017, and status will last from the time it's earned until the end of the next calendar year, instead of the current 12 months. (Status earned or renewed in 2016 will also last until the end of 2017.)

The bottom line is that le Club will look like most other loyalty programmes in the way status is earned and maintained.
