Late Night Dining in Los Angeles

  1. Starving at 2am after dancing and drinking the night away on Sunset Boulevard? When the post-partying munchies hit, check out these late night dining hot spots to satisfy your sweet to savory taste buds.
    1. Fred 62 (1850 N. Vermont Ave.)
Open 24/7/365, Fred’s offers classic American food along with, arguably, the best milkshakes in LA. Servers dressed in vintage diner ensembles, complete with snazzy aprons, provide friendly service when dealing with inebriated patrons. My personal favorite menu items include the Poorest Boy Sandwich and the Thai Cobb salad.
    2. The 101 Coffee Shop (6145 Franklin Ave.)
For diner fare with a SoCal twist, battle blurry crowds of hipsters to get a table at “the 101″ after the clubs shut their doors. Wood-paneled walls and comfy orange seats transport you to a dining experience straight out of the 70’s. You can’t go wrong with the Mickey Fitz or a side of the perfectly crunchy sweet potato fries.

    3. Canter’s Deli (419 N. Fairfax Ave.)
Voted Best Deli in 2011’s “Best of LA’s Hotlist” contest, this 24/7 establishment has been a popular LA landmark since 1931. On entrance, prepare to be greeted by the irresistible desserts and breadstuffs at their bakery counter, where items are made fresh twice daily. I am completely obsessed with their corned beef hash and matzo ball soup.

    3. Swingers (8020 Beverly Blvd. & 802 Broadway)
Expect a wait for a table at both trendy diner locations, Hollywood and Santa Monica, after painting the town red. Foodies will relish the fact that breakfast dishes are prepared with organic eggs. Partial to the Mediterranean Platter and Patty Melts, I always save room for their scrumptious Challah French Toast.
