Hi fellow milepoint readers, I'm looking for some last minute inexpensive travel for labour day. Leaving 8/31 to 9/3. Any suggestions?

From/to and the definition of inexpensive would help. Per mile? Overall? Returning?

Delta sometimes has weekend specials that can be booked on short notice at prices that aren't sky high.

You're absolutely right. Oops. ORD to anywhere (Southwest's moto rings true here, "want to get away"). Dates 8/31 to 9/3. Per mile: < 0.05.

Take the train up to East Lansing and go to the MSU-Boise State game Friday night. :D. See you there!

<0.05 from ORD is rare. Mixing it with Labour Day weekend, unlikely.

I fully understand that ORD is a pain in the ass to find great fares, but I know there are experts out there that are incredibly creative. ;)

Use the maps. The FareCompare maps are fantastic. See above.

Yes they are; and much better than Kayak's one. I find Kayak's one is never accurate.

I think most all will book into refundable fares due to the closeness of time. THe only other thing is weekly specials like UA's Efares. Less then 5cpm prob isn't going to happen with 24hour booking times.

Thanks everyone for replying. Unfortunately we couldn't find anything of interest that was within budget. So instead we did a small road trip, which turned out incredibly enjoyable.

    Thanks again!
