We are scoping out hotels for a forthcoming trip to Vegas. We are thinking of using our Priority Club points so the two contenders we have are The Palazzo and Venetian. At this time I am leaning towards the Venetian because of the location.

We are only really interested in the gambling and being able to get a good nights sleep. I have read some negative comments on Trip Advisor re noise at the Venetian and cigarette smoke. Has anyone had any personal experience of these issues at the Venetian or is it just a case of a Minnie Moaner making a mountain out of a molehill?

Definitely stay at Palazzo if its the same. It is newer and the rooms are easily 100 sq. ft. bigger for a standard room (suite) there. In terms of location, you're talking about a difference of about 3 minutes walking between the hotels. They are completely connected by the Shoppes and Canal shopping areas. I have stayed at both and consistently prefer Palazzo if I can get it.

Have stayed at the Venetian many times and we like it. Haven't experienced any noise or smoke issues. That being said, I would love to try Palazzo.

Venetian is our favorite hotel. We prefer the Palazzo for noise reasons (it's quieter). The only noise problem we're aware of is strip view rooms that overlook the pool.

    Enjoy!

  7. I haven't stayed at the Palazzo yet, but I've stayed at the Venetian three times and didn't have any issue whatsoever. I actually consider The Venetian to be less smokey than a lot of other casinos. Noise...are the noise complaints about the rooms or the casino? If it's the rooms, never had any noise issues. As for the casino, nothing out of the ordinary in Las Vegas. Either property should be fine. Have fun!

The smoke in Venetian has cleared up a bit though at the expense of a flowery smell throughout the casino which may not be to everyone's liking either. Palazzo is best as mentioned above. If you do book at Venetian, do not get a room in the Venezia tower as it is older and is more likely having a smoke smell. Venezia tower is the less expensive tower now as rooms have not been refurbished.
