USA Today: New Las Vegas terminal adds glitz to McCarran airport
Change coming to LAS!
Sounds very inviting right now, change is good, when it is for the better and improves the whole experience of travel! Thanks for sharing!
Well, anything is an upgrade over the old Terminal 2..which seems like it is 50 years old. We will see how the new terminal operates. Kind of surprised it only has 14 gates though. Really wish a major carrier would move a hub into LAS. Most of the direct international routes are one off odd carriers or isolated routes. Obviously not enough demand, but one can dream.
Well, looking how US just recently dehub'ed Vegas, I suspect that's not going to happen and for a reason.
There are too many US airports that are just old and crusty... especially compared to all the new airports in Asia. I've said multiple times when flying back to the US how bad a first impression we must make on tourists when the first thing they see is a 30 yr old airport.
when the ports of entry are places like JFK, then yes. we've got a lot more issues than crusty airports - like the avatars that dwell within the airport.
USA Today did a lousy job with the pictures that accompanied the story.
