The saddest sight in commercial aviation this year has been the complete and utter fall from grace of Jeff Smisek, formerly revered as the dear respected Supreme Leader, but now reviled as Jeff Jong Un(ited). He has stripped away everything from United that made it better than any other carrier on Earth. Travelers and United enthusiasts the world over lament the Jeff Jong Un(ited) fall from grace.

In this thread, we similarly lament what could and should have been. :(

    He doesn't deserve an embalming.

Look at the ex-FNJ members with worthless MP accounts. The leader is not missed.

Funny, but on a serious note, I think the current UA top leadership needs to be swapped out. UA has been underperforming in every way for too much time.

Yeah. I was amused that three years ago people were calling for Tilton to return. I would have included smilies if I hadn't been on my iPad.

I assume this isn't a serious thread, so I am going to use it to post nonsense. Don't assume that anything I post here is my real opinion.

Ah. Lamentation. My favorite of the three best things in life. Are we sure this isn't a serious thread?

    Tilton?

At this point, it has become "Anyone but Smisek"

He board needs a wake up call. Let the results speak for themselves. Already UA is on a negative revenue trend, the latest moves may tweak the balance sheet, but won't fix revenue problems ( fancy demand projection models included).

When you devalue the loyalty program, people are going to walk. No B school education or a JD from Harvard necessary. Its called common sense.

Its too early to see the report card on this move, but it will be very interesting to see the results vis a vie others in the sector.

In some ways, UA has dig a hole for itself that is not so easily fixed. Union controlled labor costs. Can't fix that, so they went after loyal customers instead. :roll eyes:

I am wearing ashes and fasting in sorrowful commemoration of this horrible black day in aviation... sadder than the death of Charles Lindbergh. How will I ever look the SMI/J video in the eyes again now?

As bad as Smisek's UA has become, Lorenzo's CO was still worse.
