The C Concourse at Lambert-St Louis International Airport was bustling with activity this morning after extensive repairs that took nearly one year to complete.
St. Louis officials formally reopened the concourse that was heavily damaged by an EF4 tornado that roared through north St. Louis County last April.
"It looks great," said St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay. "It certainly has the apperance of a brand-new terminal."
Lambert Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge said the repairs coincided with a planned major renovation. The two efforts, which totaled nearly $15 million, resulted in a brighter, more modern look, officials said.
Airlines were moved to the B and D concourses while the renovations were under way. Hamm-Niebruegge said the repairs were completed ahead of schedule.
