Wow ... an actual enhancement!
Score! I'll have to check it out; thanks for the heads up!
Mixed emotions...they were some of the easier awards to get..
Must be an error. The fuel surcharges are way too low.
There are so many bugs in searching for them right now that I think you're going to have to be very persistent to book and likely will need to call armed with the inventory found online. Also, there are some KE destinations (AKL, for instance, which is strange given that VA inventory is online and they also fly to AKL) that don't come up as valid for searching, so I imagine people will try certain things get errors and give up.
The fuel surcharges on KE were a very short-lived phenomenon (and the no surcharges on VA thing seems to be persisting, which is nice). I'd love to call and get my $250 in YR/YQ back from LAX-ICN-AKL, but DL phone reps keep trying to charge me extra miles for that ticket, so I'm going to live with the charge.
Hopefully this is here to stay.
I suspect that it is. We've had VA and AM rolled out in the last year or so. There was briefly some AZ inventory sometime in 2011, but then it disappeared never to return, but other than that, the things that have popped up online have stuck. I suspect that we'll see a lot of the bugs worked out in the next couple of weeks. I seem to recall that when the VA space first appeared, there were a lot of bugs, and then space wasn't showing, and then things started working smoothly.
I found that when searching multi-city all the KE operated segments show "not available" even if you can book them via a RT on the same dates.
I found that out while doing an experiment with the DL engine for open-jaws (http://pointstopointb.wordpress.com/2012/10/22/an-open-jaw-award-experiment-with-delta-skymiles/)
Any workarounds to this or any updates?
Call it in?
Well now the KE segs will show as clickable legs when building a multicity sometimes. However submitting the finalized multi city booking completely fails and you have to start over. I never got it too book online. Is that progress...?
On a more positive note I did painlessly book 2 RTs on KE for 120k each since then though. It was remarkably easy for both.
TheAirlineThatCannotBeNamed featured online booking of KE - and AM except for LIM for some reason - as long ago as 2005/06. What's more, these itins ticketed as displayed at either regular or RuleBuster levels (2x only). This commendable functionality vanished immediately in 2009.
So DL IT returns some of its Medallion customers to the IT condition that they experienced six years ago or more. I don't understand why the congratulations. If I returned to a 2006 syllabus dealing with IT content, I'd be asked to explain
Does anyone have a link to the thread with the Korean Blackout dates/
The KE site lists it at the bottom of this page: http://www.koreanair.com/local/na/gd/eng/sp/rm/eng_sp_rm_ka03.jsp
Just keep in mind that DL blacks out all KE routes if any KE route is at peak rate for SkyPass on that date. Apparently you can sometimes snag seats on DL.dumb if the route isn't at peak for SkyPass, but agents won't book them.
Interesting - will have to try during a blackout in Dec!
