Kiva has just begun a Free Trial program today through August 13, 2011 for new members:
Join @Kiva: Get $25 free trial and help alleviate poverty. http://t.co/I9ryvfK

Help Kiva reach more lenders and borrowers by inviting friends to try Kiva with a $25 free trial. For the first time ever, we're offering 4,000 free trials to let new lenders make a real Kiva loan, at no cost to them.

(Full disclosure: If 5 friends join through a referrer's link, the referrer gets a free t-shirt.)

    Details:
These free trials will be financed by Kiva, allowing the new lender to make one $25 loan free of charge. These free trial loans are dispersed to borrowers in the same way other loans are dispersed on Kiva. However, since Kiva is funding the free trial loan, any repayment funds from the free trial loan will go back to Kiva, not to the free trial lender. New lenders invited during the promotion dates may choose to use their own funds to make a loan, in which case repayments will go back to the lender.

New members: Please be sure to join the milepoint team, too!

Know someone that would like to try Kiva but has been hesitant to do so?

    www.kiva.org/ladieshomejournal

What better way to try Kiva than to try it for free? From November 15, 2011 at 9:00 am PST to January 31, 2012 at 11:59 PST, Kiva will provide free trial loans to the first 3,000 Ladies' Home Journal readers who become new users and make a loan.

These free trials will be financed by friends of Kiva, allowing the new lender to make one $25 loan free of charge. These free trial loans are disbursed to borrowers in the same way other loans are disbursed on Kiva. However, since Kiva is funding the free trial loan, any repayment funds from the free trial loan will go back to Kiva, not to the free trial lender. New lenders invited during the promotion dates may choose to use their own funds to make a loan, in which case repayments will go back to the lender.

Supplies of free trials are limited to one (1) per new user, and will be made available on a “first claimed” basis.
