In case someone has not heard the news, Kingfisher is scheduled to join one world, presumably at the end of February, assuming that the airline is still operating then. Presumably this may mean that DL miles will not be valid for award tickets on Kingfisher issued after some date to be announced. So, plan ahead if you are considering an award ticket that might involve travel using Kingfisher.

Note that Kingfisher is currently one of the independent airlines that do not belong to SkyTeam or any other alliance. However, they have been a DL partner.

DL miles will no longer be valid for redemption on Kingfisher because Kingfisher's probably going to collapse.

Yes all done. And Jeff doesn't even have to manifest sleight-of-hand or sleight-of-social-media to reduce SM redemption options in this way :p

Exactly. I'd put money on Kingfisher not even making it to joining oneworld...

I find it surprising that an alliance would announce that they plan to accept an airline in such bad financial shape. Wasn't this one of the reasons that Air India ultimately wasn't accepted into *A IIRC?

I think it played a role with AI and *A, but there was also the issue of 9W. One side (can't remember if it was *A or the Indian government) wanted both carriers in *A, while the other side wasn't so sure about that idea.
