Kilauea Eruption on the Big Island of Hawaii

    Madam Pele is putting on a spectacular display on the Big Island of Hawaii today, with lava splattering as high as 90 feet in the air. For safety reasons, the Volcanoes National Park staff have closed many of the roads and trails, including Chain of Craters Road and a portion of Crater Rim Drive from the Jaggar Museum to Chain of Craters Road. Consequently, none of the current eruption can be seen from within Volcanoes National Park.
