I need 470 miles to make *G on A3 and I just booked a one-way flight EWR -> DCA in UA class T specifying my A3 frequent flier number. Class T earns 50% on Aegean with a 500 mile minimum -- the minimum will put me over the top for *G.

The flight is United Airlines, Inc. 3838, however it also says
OPERATED BY EXPRESSJET AIRLINES DBA UNITED EXPRESS

I know that Star Alliance credits based on the operating carrier. I assume that this will credit as a normal UA flight, but I just want to make sure I'm not taking a flight in vain, as it were. Can I expect this flight to credit to A3 like a mainline United flight?

    Generally, yes.

I had one flight where they said XJet was the operating carrier, and didn't get credit.

That doesn't sound good. You were crediting to Aegean?

Yep. I have the documentation UA gave me to forward to A3. Didn't need it in the end, but still rather frustrating.

Okay, so you did get it to credit in the end?

Was this the only Express Jet DBA United Express flight that you credited to Aegean, or did you have others that posted without incident?

ExpressJet usually goes through eventually without issue. I've heard some stories about Commutair but I think they mostly got resolved in the end as well.

I don't think so. I had issues with SkyWest as well. It's almost like they don't understand DBA. Grab a paper ticket as a receipt in case you need to scan it and send it in to them.

I can only describe Aegean's customer service as frustrating. It can take months to resolve these issues. Social media seemed to help speed things up a bit.

I did have a an issue with a flight not crediting before (TAM, I think). I filled out the on-line missing credit form and a month or two later the miles showed up.

Do you mean a boarding pass, or actually getting them to issue a paper ticket?

Boarding pass, sorry. Hopefully that would be enough!

I flew last Friday, today is Tuesday, and the full 500 mile minimum has been credited to my Aegean account. I'm now *G (squeaking by with 20,028 miles). Hopefully they'll have time to send me a card with a 2017 expiration date on it; in any event the status should last through November 2015.
