I am about to start a string of flights that were booked after the first devaluation and 1Q earnings. These flights would have been in the past booked on UA or its jv partners (LH Group or NH) but I went out of my way not to do so. In fact, the next set of flights are on Turkish and Singapore, and god bless em ( I never thought I would say that), AA. These flights were in fact cheaper than UA ( believe it or not).

If you are taking flights that you would have otherwise would have normally booked on United, post or tweet #NotFlyingUA with a pic of the boarding pass / seat (as if people here needed more excuses to post airline porn on social media) . #NotFlyingUA

The intent is not to harm United but rather as an outlet of expression and opposition for former loyal customers that basically had enough and reached breaking point.

It starts with Garlic bread and ketchup (gone) , and where does it stop? Count myself as one such person. I realize like myself some of us don't have a choice because we live in i.e SFO / fortress hub or work for / with a corporation that made a sweetheart deal with UA, Make a choice and share it #NotFlyingUA

I admire your move and the resolution to make the change. I hope you have comparable status benefits on your alternate airlines of choice to help make this transition smoother.

Congrats on your move, and hopefully things go smooth for you. I've got a flight up to NY next week, and a trip to Europe in August that's booked with UA, but it's quite possible those will be my last. I know many folks thought I was out of line with my complaints on my previous thread, but UA has totally let me down operationally over the last 8 months or so. I actually booked this trip to NY to be there 36 hours before I needed to, since my last batch of flights have all had fairly significant maintenance (and weather delays). Ironically I just started a 5 month local project, so outside of big meetings and personal weekends I won't likely be flying much through the end of the year. These next few trips will likely solidify whether UA is going to continue to be my airline of choice going into next year or not. You can bet on it that if I get another Q400 maintenance delay and start our vacation by missing the connection to MUC that UA won't see another dime from me.

Keep us posted with your flight experience. Hoping at least your August holiday will be uneventful, flight-wise.
