Ok, So the website no longer shows the information about the sale. Here is what I got via email:

Then, maybe you could use a Sydney - Sydney flight?

I think JQ would drop AVV for Melbourne to SYD flights if they could.

Ya think? It is a major QF/JQ maintenance location. The landing fees must be cheap, cheap, cheap. And the Vic. Premier made an election promise to build a train line to AVV.

Now, if they could just get the AVV-MEL shuttle working well for those folks who fly into the wrong airport and need to get to the other one!

I thought the 1c sales were conditional on having a JQ credit card!?
Certainly some other past promotions were

I would have considered ADL<->MEL tickets if knew about the sale at the time. I recently picked up some JetStar StarClass tickets from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur and am quite looking forward to checking their StarClass cabin out.

They were. But is it really worth getting a jetstar credit card to try and get cheaper flights?
I got it so I didn't have to pay the annoying $7.70 fee for every ticket.
